Simply unplayable is the San Candido native, who continues to “tyrannize” whenever he faces an Italian, winning 13 out of 13 derbies. Having made it past the second round – in the first he had benefited from a bye – Sinner may now be getting the hang of it. Also because in Madrid, without Djokovic around – the Serb preferred to give up, concentrating on his next appointments – he has a chance to accumulate other precious points, useful to get closer to the first place of the ranking (he would become so in case he comes to win the tournament).

The winner of this challenge in the fourth round will face one between Flavio Cobolli and Karen Khachanov.

The Sinner admired against Sonego should have no problem getting rid of Kotov, who by the way will pay for the fact that he was on the court for almost six hours in the previous match. The total games are likely to be less than 20.
