Sinner earthquake, still no end to the controversy around the blue tennis player. And Nadal’s comment also arrives
The controversy around Sinner still does not subside. Of course, now the voices pro the Italian tennis player are starting to be different and also important. And not only from Matteo Berrettini, an Italian and therefore compatriot who can fit in, but also from other voices who, surely, could have thought differently.
In this case to speak is Toni Nadal, Rafa’s uncle, who in a long editorial in El Pais, one of the most important Spanish newspapers, spoke well of Jannik Sinner. An important comment, which perhaps could also change the minds of all those people who have criticized the lack of disqualification after the positivity.
Sinner earthquake, Nadal’s words
“Just hours before the start of the Us Open–the comment came out a couple of days ago–the most relevant news continues to be Sinner’s positivity. After the detailed explanations to me it is absolutely clear the will of the blue player not to commit any offense. Even more so not to seek any advantage through the use of prohibited substances.” And then, “I know the player well enough to be able to say without a shadow of a doubt that he is one of the most correct and polite boys on the circuit. To me it is unthinkable that he could have acted falsely. There was a problem within his team that he paid for in a salacious way with the economic sanction and the loss of Atp points.”
Finally the final dig: “Even more I am really surprised that within the tour there are other tennis players who have taken a stand against him. I don’t understand how those who know him well can doubt his innocence or that they directly want a punishment against him that under the rigors of scientific certainty would be absolutely disproportionate.” Clearer than that one really dies.
