Sheffield United-Chelsea, Premier League: likely formations, predictions.

by Thorsten

Sheffield United-Chelsea is a match of the 32nd day of the Premier League and is played on Sunday at 6:30pm: live TV, probable formations, predictions.

The challenge between Chelsea and Manchester United, staged in the last midweek round, will probably be remembered for sure as the most exciting of this edition of the Premier League. It was a sensational match, full of reversals and giving as many as 7 goals in total (4-3). Mauricio Pochettino’s team came out on top in a rather robotic way, able to come back against the Red Devils in the last minutes of the second half with a brace from its most decisive player at the moment, former City player Palmer.

The Blues had the strength to come back from the abyss into which they had fallen: after going ahead by 2 goals (Gallagher and Palmer) they were overturned by United, cashing in 3 goals in just over half an hour. The Argentine coach seemed resigned to yet another disappointment of the season, but the young striker, bought last summer from England’s champion club, turned the tide, allowing Chelsea to stay in the race for Europe. The Londoners climbed to 10th place, -2 from seventh-placed West Ham, which also played two more games. On the wings of enthusiasm for the success over United, the Blues will now try to take the three points away from the Sheffield trip, on paper largely within reach. Waiting for them at Bramall Lane are Chris Wilder’s men, who are increasingly last in the standings and now almost doomed. The Blades last Thursday surrendered to leaders Liverpool (3-1), remaining on 15 points.

The prediction

Chelsea will not miss this opportunity. If successful, the Blues could return to the top 7 and breathe the scent of Europe again. It cannot be ruled out, however, that Sheffield United will manage to score at least one goal against a defense, that of the Londoners, which in the last six games has never conceded less than two goals.

The likely lineups for Sheffield United-Chelsea

SHEFFIELD UNITED (3-5-2): Grbic; Holgate, Robinson, Ahmedhodzic; Bogle, Arblaster, Hamer, Souza, Trusty; McBurnie, Brereton Diaz.
CHELSEA (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Malo Gusto, Disasi, Badiashile, Cucurella; Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez; Palmer, Gallagher, Madueke; Jackson.
