Serie C girone A, predictions on the matches of Saturday, March 23

Serie C girone A, Possanzini’s Mantova smells Serie B but it won’t be easy to get right the hostile Trento: news and predictions.

The games in Serie C round A seem to be done, with Domenico Possanzini’s Mantova having an impressive 11-point lead over second-placed Padova with 6 days to go. The Virgilians in 2024 have suffered only one defeat (with AlbinoLeffe in February) and come from three wins in a row, all of them very rounded and in which they scored 10 total goals while conceding none.

The countdown to promotion to Serie B, in short, has long since begun, although this weekend Mantova will have to contend with another team in excellent form, Trento, one of the few to give the biancorossi a hard time (they lost 1-0 at home in the first leg). Francesco Baldini’s men want to consolidate their position in the playoff zone – at the moment they are ninth – and will give a hard time to the leading team, which in any case will manage to at least avoid defeat: the hypothesis of a draw is to be considered.

There are 4 draws in a row collected by AlbinoLeffe, all of them ended with the result of 0-0: the Seriani do not shine from the offensive point of view and in the regional derby with Pro Sesto the total goals could be again less than three. Fiorenzuola still believes in direct salvation but the margin of error is starting to become narrow and with Aurora Pro Patria even a draw could be of little use: at least one goal on each side.

The predictions on the other matches

Giana also dreams of a playoff spot, leading a large group of teams from 14th place on up who are in full fight for the postseason. Fresh off six positive results, the Lombardi start favored against tail-end Alessandria, now almost a goner.

Very interesting playoff challenge between Vicenza and Legnago, third and fifth respectively. The two teams are separated by 6 points: the “biancorossi” haven’t lost for two months and must redeem the home draw with Fiorenzuola in the recovery but the guests are bursting with health. Legnago’s last defeat was in December and in the last three days they have always won (Pergolettese, Pro Vercelli and Lumezzane). There is also a direct clash in Lumezzane, where a Virtus Verona is on the scene, which is on the wane and has conceded 8 goals in the last 4 matches: expected more than two goals overall.
