After thirteen days we can say with certainty that in Serie B there are 3 teams that run more than the others: Pisa, Sassuolo and Spezia. Those who are surprising in a positive way are Pippo Inzaghi’s men, who arrived at 30 points after their two victories against Cremonese and Sampdoria: Pisa has now thrown off the mask, since in the era of 3 points per game only one team has failed to win promotion once this threshold has been reached in the same number of days.
Saturday afternoon the Nerazzurri will be engaged in the Tuscan derby with Carrarese: a match within reach but there is the unknown of the post-season. And then we must not forget that the Apuans, before surrendering to Modena two weeks ago, were coming from six positive results. Sassuolo, whose only defeat remains the one to Cremonese last August, is also going fast: Fabio Grosso’s neroverdi are -2 from leading Pisa and start favored in the challenge with a Salernitana in crisis and that during the break exonerated Martusciello and recalled Colantuono. And Spezia? In the so-called “limbo” of the standings are Catanzaro and Mantova, two teams still undecidable: slight preference for the Calabrians, but only because of the disastrous performance of the Virgilians away from home (only 2 points obtained so far). Reggiana, sixth-to-last, is another team in trouble: the Emilians haven’t won for 4 days and are in danger of staying dry even in the derby with Cesena, which unlike the granata is going strong (three wins in the last 4 games). A challenge between “noble disappointments” that between Palermo and Sampdoria: expected at least one goal on each side. Finally, it should not be a spectacular match between Cremonese and Frosinone: the Lombardi have relied on Stroppa after the two defeats against Pisa and Mantova and will try to turn things around against the disappointing Ciociari.
