Premier League, predictions eighth day: matches Saturday 4 p.m.

by Sabrina

Premier League, a Manchester United in crisis seeks redemption against Brentford at Old Trafford but there is also the challenge between Fulham and Aston Villa.

During the last break for national team commitments there was a moment when Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag’s fate appeared sealed. And instead the club took yet another step back, deciding to give the Dutch coach one last chance.

While there is talk of a possible landing at Old Trafford of Vincenzo Montella – the former Fiorentina and AC Milan man would be the number one candidate if ten Hag were to leave – the Red Devils will try to end their fast of victories in the league: Manchester United’s last success in the Premier League was more than a month ago, and it is not surprising that Bruno Fernandes and his teammates are only 14th in the standings. Brentford, however, is a tough customer. Away from home the Bees are less fearsome but it must be said that they have done better than the Red Devils so far, winning 2 more points. Staying out of the final result, we imagine an eventful match at Old Trafford, in which the guests will also most likely find their way to goal. Another challenge to watch out for on Saturday afternoon in the Premier is that between Fulham and Aston Villa. The Londoners two weeks ago put a scare into Manchester City – at the Etihad Stadium it ended 3-2 – and they can repeat with the Birmingham club, unbeaten since late August between the league and Champions League but still patchy.

The predictions on the other matches

Between the matches scheduled for 4 p.m. there are also two salvation clashes. Everton are fifth-last with one point more than newly promoted Ipswich Town and in their last three games have avoided defeat to Leicester, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle, confirming improvements in the defensive end: they can succeed again against the Tractor Boys.

Seeking for a big hit instead Jamie Vardy’s Leicester, just back from a valuable narrow success (1-0) against Bournemouth: the Foxes, on 6 points, have what it takes to win the direct clash with Southampton, another team that comes from the Championship. We close with Newcastle-Brighton: both have won an impressive 12 points and occupy sixth and seventh place respectively, but the Magpies in front of their home crowd are still unbeaten. For us they remain slight favorites over the Seagulls.
