Spurs can redeem themselves in front of their fans against an Everton side that displayed obvious problems in the non-possession phase of the ball in their debut with Brighton, foundering 3-0 at their own stadium.
The predictions on the other matches
Crystal Palace’s and West Ham’s was a false start: the two Londoners on their debut surrendered to Brentford and Aston Villa (both lost 2-1).
So it will be a derby between disappointments that will be staged at Selhurst Park: the two defenses have shown that they are not airtight, which is why we could see a match of at least one goal on each side.
A balanced match also looms at Craven Cottage between Fulham and Leicester: the Cottagers were unlucky at Old Trafford against Manchester United (1-0), but Vardy and co. also made their case against Tottenham. Finally, the same goes for Southampton-Nottingham Forest: the Saints, another team that has just set foot again in the top flight, are coming off a decent performance at home to Newcastle (they “only” lost 1-0) and against the Tricky Trees, who made their debut with a draw against Bournemouth, they should at least manage to avoid defeat.
