Pisa-Catanzaro, Serie B: live TV, streaming, odds, predictions

by Michael

Pisa-Catanzaro is a match of the thirty-fifth day of Serie B and is played Friday at 8:30 p.m.: odds, predictions, live TV and streaming.

Catanzaro is almost sure to play them, the playoffs. The same cannot be said of Pisa, which in these last four days will still have to sweat to get back into the top eight and secure a place in the upcoming post-season. The Tuscans have 44 points, one less than eighth-place Sampdoria, while the Calabrians are on 56 and have just squandered a great chance to nibble away at fourth-place Cremonese.

Vincenzo Vivarini’s team, stable for several months now in the upper echelons of the standings despite its newly promoted status, a week ago did not go beyond a draw in the direct clash with Stroppa’s Grigiorossi (0-0), retaining fifth place but remaining -4 behind the Lombardi. Having vanished once and for all their dreams of direct promotion, Catanzaro will try to stay in the running for at least third and fourth place so as to bypass the preliminary round of the playoffs. The Giallorossi have only cashed in two defeats since February and both have accrued at the “Ceravolo” (Reggiana and Como). Pisa, on the other hand, only started to carbonize two months ago and in the last eight days their only defeats were both on Lombardy soil (Como and Brescia). Last Saturday, Alberto Aquilani’s men drew 1-1 at the San Nicola in Bari against a team as struggling as the biancorossa.

Pisa-Catanzaro: the latest lineup news

Aquilani is confident of recovering striker Torregrossa: during the week the former Brescia and Sampdoria striker started working with the group again and could recover for Catanzaro. Absent instead are Hermansson and Miguel Veloso, both struggling with injuries.

On the other hand, Vivarini has to deal with yet another Ghion forfeit: the midfielder’s season is now over after being diagnosed with a muscle injury. Another tegola for the Giallorossi coach after the serious injury suffered by D’Amico.

The prediction

Everything seems to be in place to witness an eventful advance, in which there should be no shortage of goals. Catanzaro on the road is a guarantee and has always scored away from home since mid-January. Pisa is also healthy: on the banks of the Arno they are beginning to see the fruits of Aquilani’s work, and in addition to the search for possession the Nerazzurri have also become prolific, finding the way of the goal uninterruptedly since December.

The probable formations of Pisa-Catanzaro
