Lazio-Milan official lineups: predicted scorers, cautions and marksmen for the challenge scheduled at the Stadio Olimpico. Here are all the tips.
Grappling with an acute crisis of results against the other pretenders to a Champions League spot, Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio hosts a Milan side that instead wants to regain that continuity of performance on the road that has often proved a chimera this season. There is certainly no shortage of lineup changes, starting with Sarri’s decision to make a reasoned turnover to preserve strength ahead of the upcoming Champions League engagement against Bayern Munich. Among the Rossoneri’s ranks, however, Theo Hernandez will start regularly from the first minute, as he has recovered from the problems he suffered a few days ago. Below are the choices of the two coaches:
LAZIO (4-3-3): Provedel, Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini, Guendouzi, Vecino, Luis Alberto, Felipe Anderson, Castellanos, Zaccagni.
MILAN (4-3-3): Maignan; Florenzi, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Adli, Bennacer, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Leao; Giroud.
Lazio-Milan, the scorers prediction
Especially when attacked on the outside, Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio has shown serious difficulties in reading the opponent’s game patterns. If Milan manages to imbue its outsides with the right timing, it could set the stage for a real mis-match. Having returned to goal against Atalanta, Leao is a candidate to put in another strong performance. However, for this evening at least, the scorer’s choice could fall to Pulisic. The former Chelsea man, one of this season’s biggest surprises, could carve out just the right space to get on the end and hurt Provedel. Glacial when the temperature of the match rises, Pulisic both right-footed and left-footed is a factor in the opponent’s penalty area. The feeling is that he may just be the ideal choice as far as scorers are concerned. But this is not the end of the story.
In fact, in light of the serious difficulties manifested by Milan in this beginning of the season, it cannot be ruled out that Lazio will be able to find the crux of the matter by exploiting the individuality of their strikers. In Sarri’s chessboard, the most intriguing goal-scoring option is the one that leads to Castellanos.
Probable cautions and marksmen of Lazio-Milan
As already anticipated there are all the ingredients to witness a very lively match. Galvanized by a disruptive physical condition at times, Loftus Cheek is a candidate to put at least one conclusion in the opponent’s goal mirror. Although not at his best, Theo Hernandez is still a potentially lethal arrow at Pioli’s disposal: the Frenchman could trouble Provedel from medium-long distance as well as Florenzi, who is very good at framing the goal with powerful and accurate shots.
On the Lazio front, on the other hand, it is impossible not to consider the Luis Alberto option: the “Magician” should be able without any particular qualms to hurl at least one shot on goal. Also to watch out for is Guendouzi who, besides being able to receive a yellow card, should try at least one conclusion in the goal mirror defended by Maignan. As for the cautioned, however, two names out of all: for Gila and Marusic, a very complicated evening is on the horizon and it is not excluded that they will be forced to resort to at least one card each. On the opposite front to be calendared the option Bennacer cautioned.
