Nottingham Forest-Leeds, Premier League: odds, predictions

by Mike

Nottingham Forest-Leeds is a match valid for the 22nd day of the Premier League and is played on Sunday at 3pm: TV, formations, predictions.

The points up for grabs at the City Ground, which takes place just before the Sunday’s big match between Tottenham and Manchester City, become even heavier after Saturday afternoon’s Premier League results. Three shocks to the bottom half of the table are worth mentioning and will certainly not have pleased Nottingham Forest and Leeds fans, who were hoping for different outcomes.

The totally unexpected victories of Wolverhampton, Leicester and Everton add even more spice to a relegation battle that may hold many surprises. At the moment, out of the tussle, there are the Tricky Trees, who have risen to 21 points thanks to four consecutive useful results in the league: victories with Southampton and Leicester and draws with Chelsea and Bournemouth. There was no history in the FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United, who strolled over Steve Cooper’s men in both the first leg and the return, with an aggregate score of 5-0. The Forest coach, however, is not desperate: the important thing will be to bring home a salvation that initially seemed very difficult to achieve. In order to achieve this, the ownership has also taken advantage of the last football market session, bringing former Real Madrid and Psg goalkeeper Keylor Navas to England.

Independent problems in attack for Forest

Jesse Marsch’s Whites are worse off after Saturday’s games and have the same points (18) as third-last-placed Everton, who are only bottom on goal difference.

Leeds, however, have a game to spare and will face Manchester United in the rematch of the eighth day of the first leg this week. Avoiding defeat in Nottingham becomes crucial. In the league, the last success dates back to last November and since the resumption of play Gnonto and his teammates have only scored three points in five Premier League matches. It was better in the FA Cup, where Leeds got through two rounds by getting the better of Cardiff – but only after the replay – and Accrington. Some problems in attack for Forest, who are without Awoniyi and Gibbs-White, while former Juventus man McKennie, who has just arrived at Leeds, will start from the bench.

The Prediction

A wide-open game, like all direct clashes. Neither side wants to lose, and the feeling is that a draw would satisfy both sides. Nottingham Forest were unable to scratch Manchester United but have shown they can handle themselves against their rivals and could extend their league winning streak. Leeds have scored six goals in their last four away games and are likely to score at least one goal at the City Ground as well.

The Nottingham Forest-Leeds line-up probables

  • NOTTINGHAM FOREST (4-3-1-2): Navas; Aurier, Worrall, Boly, Renan Lodi; Danilo, Freuler, Mangala; Scarpa; Johnson, Surridge.
  • LEEDS (4-2-3-1): Meslier; Ayling, Wober, Struijk, Firpo; Adams, Roca; Aaronson, Gnonto, Harrison; Bamford.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
