Milan-Venezia, Serie A: tv, streaming, likely lineups, prediction

by Mike

Milan-Venezia is a match of the fourth day of Serie A and is played on Saturday at 8:45 p.m.: odds, prediction, live TV and streaming.

Paulo Fonseca has not yet managed to dispel the many doubts hovering over his head since he became the coach of AC Milan, succeeding Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri have unquestionably been one of the great disappointments of the first few days of the championship, remaining winless and already slipping -5 behind Juventus and Inter in the standings.

Two draws with Torino (2-2) and Lazio (2-2) interspersed with a loss to newly promoted Parma (2-1). But what is most worrying is a disastrous non-possession phase so far: the Diavolo’s defense is the most beaten in the tournament, along with those of Lecce and Atalanta, with 6 goals conceded in 270 minutes of Serie A. Fonseca, in short, is already in question and in order to shake off some of the pressure he will have to achieve a convincing success in the evening’s advance of the fourth day with Venezia, a match that must be won at all costs in order not to further worsen a situation that is as precarious as it can be. At the San Siro comes a team that so far has managed to avoid defeat only in the second day with Fiorentina (0-0), but has lost both of its other two matches, the one with Lazio (3-1) and the one against former coach Vanoli’s Torino (0-1). Not an exciting start for the men of Eusebio Di Francesco, who was called upon to bring the Lagosians to safety after the unfortunate experience in Frosinone, which ended in bitter relegation to Serie B.

Milan-Venezia: the latest lineup news

Morata and Jovic are still not 100% and the Rossoneri attack will rest on the shoulders of Englishman Abraham, who arrived in the last days of the market from Roma as part of an exchange with Saelemaekers. On the left, Pulisic is undermined by Chukwueze, while Loftus-Cheek and Leao are certain of a starting shirt. In defense, however, Calabria should get the better of Emerson Royal, a negative protagonist in the first three outings. Finally, Bennacer is injured: the Algerian will have until December.

Di Francesco’s only doubt is in the three-quarter, where Ellertsson should win out over the re-established Busio. Otherwise, the orange-and-green lineup will see bomber Pohjanpalo again, supported on the three-quarter by Oristanio. In the midfield Nicolussi Caviglia and Duncan, on the flanks instead will act Zampano and Candela.

The Prediction

A match that the Rossoneri absolutely cannot afford to get wrong: Fonseca will most likely make it to pocket the first victory but, in light of Milan’s great difficulties in their own half, Venezia has a good chance of scoring at least one goal at the San Siro. After all, the “Over 2.5” sign has occurred in 12 of the last 13 challenges played by the Diavolo in Serie A.
