Liverpool v Bournemouth, Premier League: odds, predictions

by Michael

Liverpool-Bournemouth is a match valid for the fourth day of the Premier League and is played on Saturday at 16:00: formations, predictions, TV, streaming.

LIVERPOOL – BOURNEMOUTH | Saturday 4pm

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool’s disappointing start to the season is somewhat consistent with the fact that they have just two points after three games in the league and are flirting with the relegation zone. No wins for the Reds and frankly it is strange to even repeat that. An impossible situation to predict before the start of the championship, but the injury problems the German coach is dealing with can be a valid mitigating factor. Against the Red Devils, new signing Darwin Nunez, who was sent off against Crystal Palace, was also missing, but the infirmary is crowded.

NKonaté, Chamberlain, Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Jones, Matip, Diogo Jota and Ramsay will be absent in the home match against Bournemouth and Klopp is hoping to recover at least some of them ahead of the next two games with Newcastle and Everton.

Liverpool are nevertheless starting to desperately need points. The Reds already need to close a significant gap to their first title antagonist, which remains Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, momentarily +5. Making a full haul against the newly-promoted Rossoneri, in short, is imperative. Scott Parker’s team had started well, with a convincing victory against Aston Villa, but against City and Arsenal they suffered two heavy defeats, in which the difference appeared abnormal. Between the Citizens and Gunners, the Cherries conceded seven goals in total without scoring any.

The Prediction

Liverpool are big favourites for the three points: Klopp’s side are desperate for revenge and Bournemouth don’t look like they can particularly challenge a Reds outfit like Fulham and Crystal Palace did. It is not a remote possibility, however, that the Cherries manage to score at least one goal at Anfield Road, putting off Salah and co.’s first clean sheet.

The likely Liverpool-Bournemouth line-ups

  • LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Luis Diaz.
  • BOURNEMOUTH (3-4-3): Travers; Mepham, Senesi, Kelly; Smith, Pearson, Lerma, Zemura; Tavernier, Moore, Christie.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 3-1
