Liverpool-Southampton, FA Cup: streaming, odds, predictions.

Liverpool-Southampton is an FA Cup fifth-round match and is played Wednesday at 9 p.m.: odds, predictions, live TV and streaming.

Liverpool has just won its first trophy of the season, the League Cup, finished for the tenth time in the Reds’ rich and assorted trophy cabinet (no one has won it that many times). Compared to the final two years ago – also played against Chelsea – at Wembley this time Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to avoid penalties by a whisker: with two minutes left in the second and final overtime period, Liverpool came out on top (0-1) thanks to a goal by its captain, Virgil van Dijk, that sent the fans present in London into a frenzy of joy.

Klopp took advantage of the League Cup to give space to several products of the youth sector: on the field from 1′ were Bradley and Elliott, while before extra time the various Danns, McConnell and Quansah entered. Without most of the starters, then, the Reds gave an important show of strength, which will surely act as a spur as the season continues. Liverpool is still in the running on three fronts: the priority is undoubtedly the league-the Reds are first with one point more than Manchester City and in two weeks there will be the highly anticipated direct clash at Anfield Road-but they also tease Europa League and FA Cup. An en plein would be the best parting gift from the German coach, who will say goodbye in the summer.

Reds, after triumph there are the Saints

Three days after the triumph in the English capital, the Reds will take the field again–a large turnover is expected–to face Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Saints last year ended up in the Championship and are trying to return to the top flight immediately. Things got complicated in the last period, following three defeats to Bristol City, Hull City and Milwall that caused Russell Martin’s team to slip to fourth place, outside the top two. Leeds second, to be clear, has five points more than the red and whites, who if the league ended now would have to make the playoffs. The Scottish coach ask for overtime for Edozie, Rothwell and Armstrong while Klopp will field another lineup packed with reserves: only bench for Salah.

Klopp is set to make numerous changes, which is why the one at Anfield could be a much less obvious match than expected. Liverpool favored for qualification but it would not be a surprise if Southampton score at least one goal at Anfield.
