Liverpool-Nottingham Forest is a match valid for the thirty-second day of the Premier League and is played on Saturday at 4 pm: TV, predictions.
An “exaggerated” reaction from Liverpool on the field of hapless Leeds after the two draws in a row with Chelsea and Arsenal further slowed their race toward fourth place. The Reds in Monday’s postponement at Elland Road literally went on a rampage (1-6) scoring six goals and ending their more than month-long fast of success. The Champions League goal, however, remains difficult to achieve.
Jurgen Klopp’s team for now makes the run on Newcastle, which is momentarily fourth and has played the same number of games as him, 30. The Magpies, however, have nine more points, a significant gap, almost impossible to close with eight games left to play. If the Premier League ended now Liverpool would be out of it all: to prevent the season from turning out to be a total fiasco, Salah and co. will at least try to finish in the top six, securing a Europa League pass. A decidedly more realistic goal if we consider that fifth-placed Tottenham (and with one more match) is +6 and that the Reds have a calendar ahead of them that could be described as affordable, in which the only remaining direct clashes are those with Spurs themselves and Aston Villa.
Nottingham Forest in free fall
Waiting to improve the external performance, which is definitely not Liverpool’s – eight knockouts have been remedied away from Anfield Road – Klopp will leverage on the always warm support of his “temple,” where so far he has lost only one game out of fourteen.
The three points should not be in question in the match against Nottingham Forest, a team that can no longer halt its descent into the lower reaches of the standings. The Tricky Trees travel to one of the Premier League’s hottest stadiums as third-last and with as many as three defeats in a row on their backs. Last Sunday it was the Red Devils (0-2) who got the better of Steve Cooper’s lineup, condemning the newly promoted side to its seventh defeat in the last ten league days, in which no wins have come.
The Prediction
There are all the ingredients for a rounded Liverpool victory. The Reds are gradually recovering from injuries, but more importantly they have regained goals and confidence. Nottingham Forest, the team with the fewest away points, will not be able to resist. Klopp’s team is likely to score two to four goals.
