Leicester-Arsenal is a match valid for the twenty-fifth day of the Premier League and is played on Saturday at 16:00: TV, formations, predictions.
Although they managed to take the lead on two occasions in the first half hour of the game, former Unai Emery’s plan to sabotage his old team, Arsenal, failed on Saturday. In the most difficult moment of their season, the Gunners returned to success by defeating Aston Villa at the end of a thrilling 2-4 and avoided the feared overtaking by Manchester City, who were stopped by Nottingham Forest.
The league table sees Mikel Arteta’s side still in the lead, two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Citizens. Arsenal, however, still have one match left to play against Everton, and the gap could potentially be as much as five points. More important than the points, however, was to get back to winning ways after four matches in which the London outfit had run out of victories, losing twice in the space of a few days to Manchester City between the FA Cup and the league. In Birmingham came a performance of great personality from the Gunners, who seemed to be melting like snow in the sun after the double knockout against the reigning champions of England. This weekend Arsenal and City take to the pitch just a few hours apart: Xhaka and co. face Leicester, while the Citizens take on newly-promoted Bournemouth a few hours later.
The Foxes however don’t seem to be in the mood for gifts. On Sunday they capitulated 3-0 at Old Trafford to Manchester United, who aren’t even giving up crumbs at home, but in the previous two games they had beaten Aston Villa and Tottenham, scoring eight goals in total. Brendan Rodgers’ line-up is in any case going through a very peculiar moment and must first try to secure salvation. It is certain that Leicester are worth more than a paltry 14th place, which is why Arsenal cannot possibly underestimate the challenge with the Foxes.
The Prediction
Leicester have proven to be an unpredictable team, capable of surprising stronger, more established teams. There are therefore plenty of pitfalls in this away game for Arsenal, whose defence is showing some cracks and at least one goal should be conceded. On the afternoon at the King Power Stadium the total number of goals will be at least three.
