Lazio-Atalanta, Serie A: TV, streaming, odds, prediction

by Martin

Lazio-Atalanta is a match from the 18th day of Serie A and is played on Saturday at 20:45: odds, prediction, live TV and streaming.

In the last league match of 2024 the spotlight is mainly on the Olimpico, where a challenge between two beautiful realities of this tournament is staged: Lazio and Atalanta. La Dea by now can no longer be called a surprise: Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are also in it for the Scudetto, and this is demonstrated by the fact that at the halfway mark they are alone at the top of the standings (having reached 40 points, two more than Antonio Conte’s Napoli and three more than reigning champions Inter, which, however, has one match less).

There are no more adjectives to describe what Atalanta is doing: last Sunday, thanks to De Ketelaere’s decisive goal, the Bergamasks brought home yet another success (3-2), even the eleventh consecutive (longest winning streak in the club’s history in the top division). A frightening continuity that La Dea, despite having raised the bar for about a decade now, had never had. Gasperini’s team is flying away as well, having come back from an impressive five wins in a row. Now the Lazio exam: the biancocelesti immediately bounced back after the resounding home debacle with Inter (0-6) two weeks ago, returning with the three points in their pockets from a complicated away match in Lecce (1-2): a more hostile match than expected, resolved three minutes from the end by a goal from Marusic, also taking advantage of numerical superiority (Salentini in ten since the end of the first half). Marco Baroni’s team thus pulled away from Fiorentina: in fourth place, in the middle of the Champions League zone, are now the capitolini.

Lazio-Atalanta: the latest lineup news

In Lazio, Vecino has stopped, who will have it for quite a while given the extent of the injury but Baroni can smile because Romagnoli is available again. Ballot on the defensive right out between Lazzari and Marusic, whose odds are rising after the decisive goal in Lecce. Pedro and Noslin are not at their best: the two may not even go on the bench.

Tegola anche per Gasperini, who has lost Retegui: the Italo-Argentine striker will also have to miss the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia. “Light” attack, then, for Dea, who will line up De Ketelaere, Pasalic and Lookman up front. Samardzic and Zaniolo are ready to take over from the bench.

The Prediction

Atalanta right now doesn’t seem to have any major weaknesses, managing to win even drawn matches thanks to the long squad and the play of individuals. We imagine that the one at the Olimpico will be another very balanced match, in which Lazio will certainly give the leading team a hard time: the Dea, in any case, should avoid defeat in a match with at least one goal on each side as in the last 2 previous matches (last year 3-2 for Lazio in Rome and 3-1 for Atalanta in Bergamo). The spectacle, in short, is unlikely to be lacking.

The probable lineups of Lazio-Atalanta

LAZIO (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Nuno Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella, Isaksen; Dia, Zaccagni, Castellanos.
ATALANTA (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Kossounou, Hien, Kolasinac; Bellanova, de Roon, Ederson, Zappacosta; De Ketelaere, Pasalic; Lookman.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 2-2
