Inter-Atalanta is a Serie A Week 21 rematch and is played Wednesday at 8:45 p.m.: odds, predictions, live TV, streaming.
The last of the four Serie A recoveries is the most important one, not only for the purposes of the standings but especially of a Scudetto fight that seems almost closed. Inter, which a month ago could not face Atalanta because it was engaged in the Final Four of the Italian Super Cup – then won in the final against Napoli – has the opportunity to stretch further on its main (and at the moment only) pursuer, Juventus, bringing itself to +12 on the Bianconeri in case of a victory over Gian Piero Gasperini’s men, who return to the San Siro just three days after the challenge with Milan.
Simone Inzaghi’s team at the moment gives the feeling of being unstoppable. No one has similar numbers, not only in Italy but also in the rest of Europe. The Nerazzurri meneghini have 66 points-if they were to keep this average they would reach 100 by the end of the season-and boast both the best offense and the best defense (63 goals scored and 12 conceded). It is an Inter side that continues to gallop despite close engagements: last Sunday came their 10th consecutive victory between competitions, a resounding 4-0 win at Lecce, and it was their second in a row in the league after the one they scored against Salernitana. Lautaro Martinez and his teammates in this recovery will get to face one of the most in-form teams in the tournament, which like them is still unbeaten in 2024.
La Dea saw their winning streak come to a halt last Sunday against the Rossoneri. Not an exciting performance, as Milan would have deserved the three points if they had been more cynical under goal (1-1, Leao’s lead was answered by Koopmeiners) but not a bad result at all, taking into account the desire for redemption of Stefano Pioli’s men. The Bergamasks, should they get the better of Inter, would overtake Bologna again in fourth place: the Felsinei now have one point more than the Orobici.
Inter-Atalanta: the latest lineup news
Inzaghi will have to do without two starters Thuram and Calhanoglu, both injured. In defense, Acerbi will not be there either, replaced again by de Vrij. In goal, Sommer returns, while in midfield the coach will give another chance to Asllani, who is called upon not to make the Turkish player miss. In front is Arnautovic.
On the other side, Gasperini might change something after the challenge with Milan. Asking for space the Croatian Pasalic in midfield, in defense instead it will be Holm’s turn to replace Scalvini, who came out battered from the match with the Rossoneri. Turnover also in attack, where next to the irreplaceable De Ketelaere could see Lookman again.
The Prediction
Atalanta’s last success at the San Siro against Inter Milan dates back to 2018. Only wins by the Nerazzurri (meneghini) in the last four previous matches, including one in the Coppa Italia. La Dea in the last two months has done well issimo but Inzaghi’s team apparently does not seem to have any weaknesses and will start with the favor of prediction. For Inter, however, beating Atalanta will not be a walk in the park: it cannot be ruled out that Gasperini’s men will also score at least one goal. Intrigue the “x first half/2 second half” option.
