Germany-Hungary, Nations League: free streaming, odds, prediction

by Michael

Germany-Hungary is a match valid for the first day of the group stage of the Nations League and is played on Saturday at 20:45: stats, free streaming, likely lineups, prediction.

In their home European Championship, Germany missed a great chance to return to lift a trophy they haven’t managed to win in 28 years. The Mannschaft’s path, led by former Leipzig and Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann, came to a halt in the quarterfinals against future European champions Spain, in what was considered by a bit of all to be the anticipated final of Euro 2024.

Germany’s hopes of victory vanished just one minute from penalties: the Roja scored the 2-1 goal through Mikel Merino at 119′ of the second extra time, condemning the hosts to elimination. Nagelsmann has little to complain about, however: his men held their own against a selection that subsequently proved to be the strongest. Now, for Germany, a new era begins: once the European Championship is over, in fact, several veterans such as Kroos, Muller, Gundogan and Neuer have said goodbye to the national team, with the young technical commissioner who will have the task of continuing to foster a generational change that has actually already begun some time ago, since the 2003 class Musiala and Wirtz have definitely taken the stage.

The last precedent dates back to the European

In the first Nations League match Nagelsmann is expected to field them both against Hungary, one of the four selections that were drawn in League A Group 3 along with the Germans, the Netherlands and Bosnia.

The Magyars meet Germany again a few months after the challenge valid for the group stage of Euro 2024, which ended 2-0 for the Mannschaft (Musiala and Gundogan). Hungary’s was not an exciting European Championship, although they narrowly missed out on the top third, penalized by goal difference: 3 points were not enough to qualify for the knockout stage. At the helm of the Magyar selection is still Italy’s Marco Rossi, in charge since 2018 and also confirmed following the unsuccessful expedition.

The prediction

Nagelsmann’s Germany will try to prove they can cope without the “old guard”: lots of new things that the coach will propose, but the Germans’ victory does not seem to be in question in a match of at least between total goals.
