Fulham-Southampton is a match valid for the eighteenth day of the Premier League and is played on Saturday at 16:00: predictions, tv, streaming.
With the one he scored last Tuesday in the London derby with Crystal Palace, Aleksandar Mitrovic’s tally of Premier League goals has risen to ten. The Serbian striker is literally dragging Fulham on, as he did last year in the Championship, hitting 43 and breaking a record that has stood since 1993.
He had a hand in the Cottagers’ sixth league win as they got off to a flying start after a month and a half’s break for Qatar 2022. Mitrovic, as well as scoring the goal that made the score 0-3, also dished out two assists, sending in team-mates Reid and Ream. It was a success that allowed the newly-promoted Bianconeri to return to winning ways after two consecutive defeats against Manchester United and a blank-net draw with Everton. The team led by Portuguese Marco Silva is going beyond the most optimistic expectations. And barring any changes they will finish the first half of the season on the left-hand side of the table, not too far from the Europa zone.
Fulham continue to impress
Fulham have already picked up 22 points and this time they seem to have the right credentials to shake off their reputation as a yo-yo club, a term used in England to refer to those teams who are constantly shuttling back and forth between the lower division and the Premier League.
The Cottagers have a chance to rack up some more points against the current Premier League tailback, Southampton. The League Cup victory did nothing to regenerate the Saints, who were soundly beaten on Boxing Day (1-3) by De Zerbi’s Brighton, inevitably slipping to last place. Fourth defeat in a row for the red and white club, who did not seem to benefit much from the change between Ralph Hasenhuttl and Nathan Jones, former Luton Town coach in charge since last November.
The Prediction
Fulham have ten points more than Southampton and, unlike the Saints, are a team in total confidence. The Cottagers also have a respectable home record – three wins, three draws and two defeats – and should be able to get the better of an opponent who have not won for five days. The total goals will be at least three.
