Frech-Giorgi, Atp Miami: schedule, live TV, streaming, predictions

Frech-Giorgi is a match valid for the first round of the Wta 1000 tournament in Miami: schedule, news, predictions, live TV and streaming.

Camila Giorgi is one of five Italian players competing in the Miami Open, the fourth Wta 1000 of the season. In Florida the player from the Marche region, who turned 32 last Dec. 30, will try to do better than in Indian Wells, where a week ago her run stopped in the second round against Czech Noskova (3-6 5-7). Yet Giorgi’s California adventure had started under the best auspices and that is with a clear success against Britain’s Boulter, number 30 in the world, beaten 6-3 6-2.

Probably in Miami it will be even more difficult to make her way, since in the event of a win in the opener the Macerata native would face the world number one, Iga Swiatek, fresh from her triumph in Indian Wells thanks to which she further consolidated her supremacy in the Wta ranking. To treat herself to a challenge with the very strong Pole first she must settle a compatriot, Magdalena Frech of Poland. Although she has little chance of getting past at least the second round, for Giorgi to win is essential to try again to climb the rankings and at least re-enter the top 100 of the ranking: recently, in fact, she slipped to 107th position. Frech, despite being much higher than Giorgi (today she is 47 in the world), comes from three defeats in a row, suffered between Dubai, San Diego and Indian Wells.

In California it was another Italian who knocked her out immediately, Rimini’s Bronzetti, downing her in two sets. There was only one previous match between Frech and Giorgi, dating back about two years: it was the Polish player who prevailed.

The prediction

Giorgi could take advantage of Poland’s Frech’s not particularly exciting moment to “gift” number one Swiatek in the second round: you can bet a token on the Marche player.
