Fognini superstar, the post leaves no room for other interpretations.
Milly Carlucci had a point, indeed. She was absolutely right when, at the end of the performance, she pointed out that the female audience had especially enjoyed the performance that had just ended. Because, indeed, the dancer for a night, chosen to enliven the penultimate night of mom Rai’s show Ballando con le stelle, was magnetic.
He is Fabio Fognini, and although viewers are used to seeing him in quite a few other capacities, he did great in this other role. So much so that it would not be so crazy to speculate that, in the not too distant future, once he hangs up his racket, he may decide to throw himself headlong into this adventure. Federica Pellegrini did it, who succumbed to the flattery of the hostess after years of shameless courtship, so why shouldn’t he, who has proven he has the stuff to rock on stage as well as on the court?
It is still early, at any rate, to talk about it, given that the tennis player from Arma di Taggia does not seem to have any intention, for the time being, of putting his career on hold. One thing, however, is certain: his performance was highly appreciated, to the point that the audience present in the Dancing with the Stars studio gave him a well-deserved standing ovation. Something that, in those parts, happens very rarely, proving that his performance was flawless.
Fognini under scrutiny: post crosses borders
Even the viewers, however, were astounded by the familiarity with which Fognini danced and interpreted the choreography, to the tune of Great balls of fire, that was sewn into him.
His success went far beyond the borders of the Bel Paese, even, as we were able to deduce from the fact that one of his non-Italian colleagues dedicated a post to him after the performance aired on Rai1. The colleague in question is none other than Alexander Zverev – for friends Sascha – who must have come across the clip from the broadcast in which the Ligurian-born champion was a guest.
“This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen this year,” the German wrote via Instagram Stories, re-sharing the video of his friend and rival Fabio’s performance. A full-blown mockery, of course, yet something tells us that he, like everyone else, must have been impressed by Fognini’s hidden talents.
