Fiorentina-Roma: video with highlights and highlights from Sunday evening’s Serie A match on March 10, 2024, with moviola episodes and report cards.
After their recent excellent results in Serie A and the Europa League, De Rossi’s Roma arrive at the Franchi to play against Italiano’s Fiorentina. In Serie A, in 2024, only Inter and Bologna have done better than the Giallorossi. Both teams are looking for points for a European placement: after Bologna’s own defeat against Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri, both Roma and Fiorentina can move closer to the Champions zone.
De Rossi places El Sharaawy in the attacking trident along with Dybala and Lukaku. He then opts for a four-man defense with Llorente wide right, Mancini and Ndicka in the center and Angelino on the left. The Viola responds by deploying former Roma man Andrea Belotti as their only point.
Also in the stands is the national team’s technical commissioner, Luciano Spalletti, probably to view Belotti himself, but also Bonaventura, Sottil and Mancini. The stadium paid tribute to Davide Astori, who passed away 6 years ago (l March 4).
Highlights of the challenge
Florentin tries to control the game with fast dribbling and Roma responds with Aouar very high and Dybala all over the field from the midfield behind Lukaku. It is precisely the Belgian at 5′ who engages with a strong shot at the first post the violet extreme defender, who pushes it away with his foot. At 16′ Dybala tries, but his shot does not trouble Terracciano. Then two minutes later the Viola takes the lead through Luca Ranieri on the development of a corner from the right taken by Biraghi and corrected with a header by Gonzalez.
A few minutes later Mandragora almost makes it 2-0 from the edge. On 24′ Belotti is stopped by Svilar. Then it’s Sottil’s turn, whose header goes just wide. At 38′, Paredes saves on the line on a header by the Gallo Belotti. The first half ends with Roma in great pain.
The second half begins with the Giallorossi more focused and proactive. In 50′ Cristante tries a first-time shot neutralized by a fine save by Terracciano. Then, at 58′, Aouar put in a header off a deflected cross from Angelino. After a skidding start, the Viola came back to create danger. In 69′, Biraghi serves Belotti, who stretches a header for Mandragora: the midfielder stoops with his chest and scores 2-1.
Paredes holds Belotti in the box, for Massa it is a penalty. Belotti shoots at Svilar saves the penalty. Roma finds the equalizer in extremis, at 95′, with Llorente: the defender volleyed under the crossbar on Ndika’s bank.

Best on the field is Mandragora, invaluable in coverage and as a filter and good at reviving Fiorentina’s game with a goal in the second half (7.5). Aouar, tonight called upon to play tactically and technically as Dybala, plays decisively: in the most delicate moment of the match, the Algerian responds (7). In the Giallorossi, Angelino also gives a good performance, especially in the second half (7). Kayode troubles Roma a lot on the right flank and plays with personality, but in coverage he does not always guard well (6).
Worst on the field Mancini: he immediately gets a yellow and risks two more in half an hour, and so De Rossi is forced to replace him at 33′ (4.5). In contrast, defensive partner Ndika is almost always perfect in closing down (6.5). Gonzalez looks in great shape and creates several dangerous actions (7). Same story for Sottil: a constant danger for the Giallorossi (7). Dybala does not offer big cues: the first good play is the one that then leads to Roma’s equalizer (6). Good match for Belotti, despite the missed penalty (6.5).
Moviola and highlights of the match
The referee pardoned Mancini a couple of times in the first half: the defender would have deserved a double caution on a late intervention on Sottil and then at the half-hour mark on Belotti. Doubtful the penalty awarded to Fiorentina on Paredes’ foul on Belotti: the holding was light.
