Earthquake Jacobs, there is nothing to be done: terrible blow

by Michael

Earthquake Jacobs, for the former Olympic 100-meter champion the blow is terrible. Here’s what happened in Rome on the Golden Gala stage.

Fifth place in the Olympics-after a gold medal in Tokyo-is a major achievement for Marcella Jacobs. Until three years ago, it was 2021, no one would have ever imagined, or even thought, that an Italian could be the fastest man in the world. A historic moment, and those who saw that race no doubt remember who they were sitting with at that moment.

Things in this period have changed, of course. Jacobs had some physical problems, then overcome, and after the Olympics he ran in Rome, in the Italian leg of the Golden Gala. It didn’t go the way he wanted, he definitely hoped to do better both for him and for the fans who welcomed him with due credit. And it was the sprinter himself who explained how things really went for him to the microphones of Rai, which collected his words at the end of the race.

Earthquake Jacobs, here’s what he said

“Olympic always magnificent, the cheering incredible. A ‘freaking’ day: when I woke up I immediately felt the bad day. Tough biceps, I didn’t handle the warm-up the way I wanted. I got up a bit at the end, no use getting hurt, the race had gone the way it did,” said the champion, thus revealing his less than optimal physical condition that led him to this at 10:20 as his final time. All this was also in order not to risk any physical problems.

A little bit unloaded and not at best and it can be there. Especially because in disciplines like this you definitely have to catch the right day to give your best. There will be a way, hopefully, to make up for it completely and to look for a new victory that would be resounding for the way things are going now in athletics. Not least because at the Golden Gala the fastest was confirmed as the 200-meter Olympic champion in Paris Tebogo, who for the next few years seems to have the road paved for many successes.
