Denmark-Serbia, Euro 2024: live TV, streaming, likely lineups, predictions

by Michael

Denmark-Serbia is a match valid for the third day of the group stage of Euro 2024 and is played on Tuesday at 9 p.m.: statistics, probable formations, predictions, TV and streaming.

Time for verdicts also in the very balanced Group C, in which the only certainty with ninety minutes to go in the group stage is the supremacy of England, which without overdoing it finds itself one step away from qualification. Southgate’s selection is the only one to have won at least one game. Neither Denmark nor Serbia have done so so far, and they are set to compete in a real clash for survival in Munich.

In fact there would also be a third wheel, surprising Slovenia, still undefeated and with two points like the Danes. Lying in last place, on the other hand, is Dragan Stojkovic’s representative, close to a new flop and for the umpteenth time unable to take advantage of its roster littered with talent. After the undeserved knockout against England (1-0), the feeling was that Serbia could take a bite out of their Slovenian cousins. On the contrary, the Balkans avoided a resounding defeat only in the midst of a recovery thanks to a kick from Milan’s Jovic (1-1). Against Denmark it goes without saying that the three points are desperately needed. With a win Tadic and his teammates would be certain to finish in second place, barring an unlikely slip-up by the English with Slovenia in Cologne. Two draws out of two, on the other hand, for Kasper Hjulmand’s side, which went well beyond expectations against England (1-1) in Frankfurt on Thursday and perhaps would have deserved more than just a draw. Assuming an English success against the Slovenians, the Danes could pull off the pass to the round of 16 as runners-up even by drawing.

The latest lineup news

There will be no surprises in Denmark’s starting lineup: Hjulmand will confirm the same eleven that took the field with the English at Deutsche Bank Park. In the midfield, former Lecce man Hjulmand, author of the equalizing goal last Thursday, is confirmed, while captain Eriksen will vary between the midfield and the three-quarter, with the task of triggering the two forwards, Hojlund and Wind.

Predicted several changes instead in Serbia, especially from the midfield up. Samardzic’s time could come: the Udinese midfielder will flank former Torino man Lukic, with Zivkovic and Birmancevic looking to have dominance on the flanks. Up front Jovic is likely to be preferred to a dull Vlahovic, who is ready to take over from the bench. The former Real Madrid man will act in the three-quarter along with captain Tadic.

The Prediction

None of the two has thrilled but the gallant performance offered by Denmark against the English makes us lean toward Hjulmand’s selection, more concrete and less moody than the Serbs, talented but as usual unpredictable. There seem to be, in any case, the preconditions to witness an eventful match, with at least three goals in total and in which probably the most goals will be scored in the second half.
