Chelsea-Liverpool is the League Cup final and is played on Sunday at 4 pm. Where to watch it on TV, likely lineups and prediction
For Chelsea it is the only chance this season to take a trophy and redeem a year that so far has been disappointing. Indeed, perhaps it is reductive to say it this way: Pochettino’s Blues have got it all wrong for the umpteenth time and in February – but already from before – they find themselves with no chance of entering Europe next year and with the feeling that they will again have to put their hands in their wallets to turn the roster around. The chance for redemption, then, although as one can well imagine against Liverpool it will not be so easy.
The Reds lead the English league and Klopp – now in his final months with the club – wants to leave the best possible memory, including bringing home the League Cup and breaking another record. In fact, Liverpool is the team that has currently won the most in its history (9) and wants to reach double figures on the afternoon at Wembley. The task is not easy, because at the end of the day the Londoners have champions in their roster, but without a doubt they are the league masters who start with the favor of prediction.
Also because, even in the league (but we know that it is not the same thing anyway), Liverpool has proven to be superior: in the clash lastJanuary 31, so not even a month ago, the Reds destroyed Chelsea 4-1 even missing a penalty with Nunez. Practically there was never a match. However, as said, a final is still a final so things could go slightly differently. Not that Pochettino can pull off the upset, difficult not to say impossible, but damage control, yes, that is. However, finally, the German coach might also have some lineup problems, with Salah and Nunez being in doubt until the end. The match is too important, though, and they could grit their teeth to be on the field.
The Chelsea-Liverpool prediction
Chelsea will try hard to make the season less bitter by bringing home a trophy. But on the other side is a stronger Liverpool – mentally and technically – that wants to end the Klopp era on a high note, who as we know has already announced his farewell at the end of the season. The challenge should give at least one goal per team and eventually even, at least, three goals overall. Because in all likelihood it will be the Reds who will take the Cup.
