Chelsea-Brentford and Southampton-Tottenham are two matches valid for the 16th day of the Premier League and are played on Sunday at 8 p.m.: TV, streaming, probable formations, predictions.
Enzo Maresca, since this year on the Chelsea bench, does not want to hear about the title: he said so in one of the last press conferences, probably to dampen enthusiasm a bit. Yet the numbers contradict him, as his Blues are currently second in the standings, only 4 lengths behind leading Liverpool (which, however, has one match less), and they have not lost a single game since November.
In the Premier League, Chelsea has been winning uninterruptedly for 4 days and is also on a full scoreline in the Conference League, where the Italian coach can afford to field second-liners and youth boys (five wins out of five, including last Thursday’s win against Astana). To stay up there at the top, however, Enzo Fernandez and his teammates must keep going at 1,000: the London derby with Brentford, the team with the best home performance in the tournament, will be quite a test. The problem for Thomas Frank’s Bees, now ninth in the standings, is that they are “relegation-worthy” on the road: only one point obtained in 7 games.
The Prediction
Brentford away from home transforms and that is why we assume another Chelsea success: the Blues’ moment is simply extraordinary. At least three goals total at Stamford Bridge.

CHELSEA (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Caicedo, Badiashile, Colwill, Cucurella; Lavia, Enzo Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson.
BRENTFORD (3-4-2-1): Flekken; van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock; Mbeumo, Yarmoliuk, Norgaard, Lewis-Potter; Fabio Carvalho, Wissa; Thiago.
POSSIBLE RESULT: 3-1

Spurs obliged to win
In the last month and a half, Tottenham’s only ringing performance was a 4-0 win in Manchester against a slumping City. Otherwise, so many disappointing results for Ange Postecoglou’s men, who have failed to win for a full five games, considering all competitions.
Last Thursday, in the Europa League, Spurs did not go beyond a draw at home to Rangers while on Sunday, in the Premier League, they were reeled off by Chelsea in the derby, surrendering 4-3 to the Blues and cashing in their second consecutive defeat after the one with Bournemouth. The situation, in short, is not the best in North London: Son and his teammates are gradually moving away from the noble areas of the standings, slipping to 11th place. Is Postecoglou in danger? Surely a reaction is needed as soon as possible, which should come on the pitch of the last in the standings, Southampton. The Saints confirmed the promotion coach, Russell Martin, despite yet another defeat, this time at home to Aston Villa (1-0). No one has done worse than them, able to collect only 5 points since the start of the season.
The prediction
There is a good chance that, despite numerous absences, Tottenham will return to winning ways. Difficult, however, for Spurs to even keep their goal unbeaten: Southampton at least one goal should do it.
Southampton-Tottenham
likely lineups.
SOUTHAMPTON (3-4-1-2): Lumley; Harwood-Bellis, Wood, Bednarek; Walker-Peters, Downes, Fernandes, Manning; Dibling; Armstrong, Onuachu.
TOTTENHAM (4-3-3): Forster; Spence, Gray, Dragusin, Udogie; Kulusevski, Sarr, Bergvall; Johnson, Solanke, Son.
POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-3
