Brighton-Nottingham Forest, Premier League: line-ups, predictions

by Martin

Brighton-Nottingham Forest is a match valid for the twelfth day of the Premier League and is played on Tuesday at 20:30: predictions, TV, streaming.

An increasingly busy fixture list in England. The Premier League doesn’t stop and, just over two days after the big match between Liverpool and Manchester City that closed the 11th day’s programme, it starts again with an intriguing midweek round. The English top-flight starts again at the Amex Stadium, where Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton will be hoping to regain the three points against bottom-of-the-table Nottingham Forest. The adventure of the former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk coach, who was called up to replace the departing Graham Potter – who in turn took over from Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea – began with enthusiasm. De Zerbi’s Premier League debut had coincided with a scintillating 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool, but the Seagulls fell short of expectations in their next two matches, suffering two defeats against Tottenham and Brentford, both without scoring a single goal.

A totally unexpected defeat against the Bees in London last Friday: Brighton created a lot, dominated possession as the coach demanded, but failed to materialise any of the 21 shots towards the goal defended by red and white goalkeeper Raya, who was in an evening of grace. However, after a bright start, the South Coast outfit slipped down to seventh place but, as soon as the Garibaldi Reds challenge, De Zerbi has a chance to make up ground. Nottingham have extended coach Steve Cooper’s contract but in the last round came another defeat, the seventh of the season.

Lingard and his teammates lost 1-0 at Molineux on Saturday against Wolverhampton, worsening their position in the standings. A shake-up is needed as soon as possible to allow the Tricky Trees to at least breathe again. And to ensure that the enthusiasm for their long-awaited return to the top flight is not wiped out in a matter of months. The numbers, meanwhile, are still not comforting: Forest have the second worst attack in the league (7 goals) and the second worst defence (23 goals).

The Prediction

Brighton should not miss out on the three points this time around, probably scoring between two and four goals against one of the league’s least solid defences, which has been a shambles so far.
