Brentford-Chelsea, Premier League: odds, predictions

Brentford-Chelsea is a match for Premier League Week 12 and is played on Wednesday at 20:30: line-ups, predictions, TV and streaming.

BRENTFORD – CHELSEA | Wednesday 8.30pm

Chelsea’s winning streak continues unbroken as they are completely revitalised following the September change in the bench between Thomas Tuchel, who was removed from his post after their Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, and Graham Potter. The former Brighton coach is disproving the most sceptical, taking a tasty revenge on those who claimed he would not be able to take over at the helm of such an important club, having no previous experience at the helm of a big club.

From the victory against Crystal Palace on 1st October, his Blues have not lifted their foot off the accelerator, bringing home two crucial victories against AC Milan in the cup: the Rossoneri beaten both at Stamford Bridge and at San Siro, and the top of the group was conquered. On Sunday, on the other hand, Chelsea’s ‘victim’ was Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa, once again in the balance after their 0-2 home defeat. In Birmingham, the Blues kept their goal unbroken for the fourth time in a row: Mason Mount, the author of a double, who took advantage of two gifts of the Villans’ defence, was the one to shine. In the midweek round it is again derby time: Potter and his team are on the scene at Brentford, a team that is confirming the good things it had shown last year. Thomas Frank’s men defeated Stamford Bridge 4-1 in April, but Chelsea won both games at the Community Stadium, which was also the venue for the League Cup match. The Bees had just beaten Brighton (2-0) to climb to 13 points, the same as reigning runners-up Liverpool.

The Prediction

Complicated task for Chelsea, as Brentford are one of the teams who have done best at home so far. So there are plenty of pitfalls for Potter, who will have to watch out for a rampaging Toney, who is in line for the Qatar World Cup. Blues slightly favoured but may not be able to keep their goal unbroken this time

Brentford-Chelsea likely line-up

  • BRENTFORD (4-3-3): Raya; Ajer, Pinnock, Mee, Henry; Jensen, Janelt, Onyeka; Mbeumo, Toney, Wissa.
  • CHELSEA (3-4-2-1): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Koulibaly; Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho, Kovacic, Chilwell; Sterling, Mount; Aubameyang.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-2
