Bournemouth-Tottenham is a match valid for the third day of the Premier League and is played Saturday at 1:30pm: TV, lineups, predictions.
A good draw at home to hostile Brentford and a home win in the big match with Manchester United. Not to throw away Tottenham’s first two outings in the post-Kane era. The Spurs environment does not seem to have been affected much by the now-contested farewell of its most iconic player, who has just moved to Bayern Munich.
It is too early to make final judgments, but new coach Ange Postecoglou, last year at the helm of Celtic, is showing that he has the right credentials to do well even in a highly competitive environment like the Premier League. His Tottenham already has a clear identity and, while waiting to see who will be Kane’s replacement, has all the credentials to give the other big names a run for their money in what is shaping up to be a transitional year (Spurs will not play any European competition this year). It will be important in any case to give continuity to the performance offered against the Red Devils, who were surprised by the swaggering and aggressive attitude of the Londoners, destined to change their skin from the last two years with Antonio Conte on the bench. Fittingly, in this sense, the match with Bournemouth, which despite a far from accommodating schedule (West Ham and Liverpool) managed to take away a point.
The Cherries, as of this year led by Andoni Iraola – a coach who landed in the Premier League after a very positive experience at Rayo Vallecano – did not demerit at all even at Anfield Road against the Reds (3-1) in an away match that was prohibitive, to say the least.
In short, the conditions seem to be in place for another hard-fought and prolific challenge against Spurs, along the lines of those of last season: with Conte on the bench, Tottenham went through 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium, but in the return leg the Rossoneri imposed themselves in London with the same result, sinking the London club even more, at its worst moment.
The prediction
Bournemouth in our opinion will manage to hold their own against Tottenham in a match that should give at least three goals in total. Spurs however slightly favored.
