Juventus passed their first test of the season, beating a tough Parma side 2-0 at the Stadium and picking up their first three points in the league, which is good for both the standings and morale. However, Igor Tudor’s team took a half to find a way to break down the Ducali defense, which, while waiting to complete its roster in Turin, essentially reintroduced a “modern” version of the old catenaccio.
The goals came from two strikers: former Lille player David immediately made his mark, then at the end of the match it was Vlahovic, who came on during the game, who sealed the deal. His goal seems to have ruled out the possibility of a transfer: although contract renewal negotiations have now broken down, it is likely that the controversial Serbian striker will remain in Turin for another year before leaving on a free transfer.
Among the protagonists of the match against the Gialloblù was the talented Turkish player Yildiz, who provided two assists and is increasingly at the center of the Croatian coach’s plans. On the downside, however, Cambiaso was sent off for violent conduct and will therefore be absent at Marassi against his former team, Genoa. The match at the Ferraris will inevitably be another tough test for a Juventus side looking for confirmation. Patrick Vieira’s team is always difficult to beat at home: in their opening game, the Grifone could not go beyond a 0-0 draw with Lecce, held back by the saves of a superb Falcone.
Genoa-Juventus: the latest news on the lineups
Compared to the match against Lecce, Vieira could insert Malinovskyi in midfield, at the expense of Carboni. There will be no changes up front, where Stanciu and Gronbaek will once again support Colombo. At the back, Ostigard is favored over Marcandalli.
On the other side, Tudor will have to make some changes on the wings to compensate for the absence of Cambiaso, who is suspended after receiving a red card against Parma. McKennie will likely take care of the left wing, while Joao Mario will position himself on the right. In defense, Gatti, Bremer (the Brazilian’s return is crucial), and Kelly will start, with Kalulu on the bench.

The prediction
The Marassi factor does not seem to be working against Juventus lately: the Bianconeri have won nine of the last ten matches in the top flight (the only Rossoblù victory was in 2022). The feeling is that Tudor’s team, as against Parma, may again struggle against a well-organized team like Genoa, which is skilled at closing down space. For this reason, we imagine a less than spectacular and very tight game, especially in the first half. Juventus remains slightly favored.
