Villarreal-Rennes is a match valid for the second day of the Europa League groups: TV, streaming and predictions
Easy life for Rennes in the first round of this Europa League: three to nil at home against Maccabi Haifa and the team at the top of group F, the one where Villarreal and Panathinaikos are also present. The Spaniards, on the other hand, arrive at their second European appointment after the draw in Greece. An important result demonstrating that the yellow of Spain can have their say all the way. Of course, in this EL there are some real squads.
If the French have not yet lost a game this season, it is a different story for the Spaniards, who have not won in their last four outings in the league and away. The moment is quite delicate and only a prestigious victory could bring back the peace of mind, at least for a while. Thirteenth place in the La Liga standings undoubtedly clashes with the chances of a team that over the course of this summer has even reinforced itself by signing Sorloth, an important striker who over the years has demonstrated his ability to find the goal. On the other side is Matic, who arrived from Roma and has made a great start, giving balance to a team that needed it.
The Prediction
Between Villarreal and Rennes, there is no favourite formation over the other. If the Spaniards were experiencing a different moment of form then they would start slightly ahead. But given what it is we don’t feel like saying that. It will certainly be a match of at least one goal per team. Which could even end in a draw.
