Villarreal-Granada, La Liga: live TV, formations, predictions

by Mike

Villarreal-Granada is a match valid for the 27th day of La Liga and is played Sunday at 2 p.m.: TV, lineups and predictions

The latest results have taken Villarreal out of the quicksand of the standings. Not that this one is so pretty to look at, there’s still some sweating to be done to reach safety, but Spain’s yellows can look forward to the future with some optimism. Most importantly, in the home match against Granada, they should not think about next Thursday’s commitment against Marseille in the Europa League.

The last away win at Real Sociedad’s field sent a definitely important signal: the hosts are a strong team built to be in different positions in the Spanish La Liga. But we know that when a season starts badly then it is difficult to manage to put it right. The hosts are succeeding, however, and they are coming to this important fixture that could definitively close the salvation question on the strength of a string of six useful results in a row. Which could undoubtedly become seven.

And there is also something else to keep in mind: Granada – which did not play last week accepting Valencia’s request for a postponement after the events in the city – is not doing so well. There hasn’t been a win since January 3, and although the last three outings have brought as many points – three draws – the squad is suffering quite a bit from the physical and mental aspect at the moment. In short, Villarreal really seems to have the road paved to an even fairly easy victory.

The prediction

A match that should give at least three total goals and probably even one goal per team. But what is certain is that Villarreal will manage to find a victory by posting the seventh straight result of their season.
