Roma-Bayer Leverkusen official lineups: predicted scorers, cautions and marksmen for the challenge scheduled at the Stadio Olimpico. Here are all the tips.
The time for talk is over. Roma and Bayer Leverkusen face off in the most important match of their respective seasons, at least so far. Everything is ready at the Stadio Olimpico for the challenge valid for the first leg of the Europa League semifinals. A crossroads that promises to be quite balanced in which every detail could make the difference. De Rossi recovers Smalling and Lukaku, crucial for such a match. Xabi Alonso relies on the eleven that more than any other this season has offered guarantees and success. Here are the choices of the two coaches:
ROMA (4-3-2-1): Svilar; Karsdorp, Mancini, Smalling, Spinazzola; Cristante, Paredes, Pellegrini; Dybala, El Shaarawy; Lukaku.
BAYER KEVERKUSEN (3-4-3): Kovar, Stanisic, Tah, Tapsoba, Frimpong, Andrich, Xhaka, Hincapie, Wirtz, Adli, Grimaldo.
Roma-Bayer Leverkusen: the scorers prediction
Roma proposes but concedes. Bayer gambles but is not inexcusable. In this interesting interlocking game, it should be the respective offensive departments that should be the ones to do the talking. The feeling is that the Giallorossi hold all the cards to hurt Kovar. Lukaku returns from injury and will be an asset. Probably from a scoring point of view, but especially in the development of the Giallorossi’s maneuver. Exploiting Big Rom’s attack on depth, in fact, Paulo Dybala could carve out interesting spaces with which to sting a defense that in recent weeks, also complicit in the post-West Bundesliga victory hangover, has conceded more than usual. Precisely the Argentine seems to be the hottest scorer choice, not least because the number 21 is the designated penalty taker for De Rossi’s side.
Probable cautions and penalty takers for Roma-Bayer Leverkusen
As already anticipated, there are all the conditions to witness a sizzling match. Indeed, two teams led by modern coaches, able to enhance – among others – also and especially the play on the outsides, face each other. Xabi Alonso, for example, has in his quiver arrows that are anything but trivial. Beginning with Grimaldo, a true all-rounder on the left lane: the goleadorous left-footed outside back should not have much more trouble shooting at least one conclusion into the goal mirror defended by Svilar. A similar reasoning could be made for the other wild card on the outside lane: we are talking about Frimpong. Frimpong like few, the Bayer Leverkusen ‘splinter’ has a great chance of hitting the target at least once.
For its part, Roma also has important weapons at its disposal. Starting with captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, one of the technical leaders of the squad. The captain, rediscovered in the tactical guise most congenial to him, should be able to hurl at least one conclusion into the opponent’s goal. Also greedy is the El Shaarawy option at least one shot on goal: the “Pharaoh” has returned to sender the many de profundiis intoned about his performance in recent times, providing a total contribution. The “resounding” option from a shooter’s point of view cannot but lead to Mancini, decisive already in the double confrontation against AC Milan and always dangerous in free-kick situations. The Giallorossi defender, however, seriously risks ending up on the naughty notebook as well as Karsdorp and Paredes. Possible cautions, finally, also for Xhaka and Stanisic, who are often compassed and predictable when challenged at speed.
