Arsenal-PSV Eindhoven, Europa League: TV, likely formations,

by Mark

Arsenal-PSV Eindhoven is a replay of the second day of the Europa League group stage and will be played on Thursday at 19:00: statistics, odds, predictions, live TV and streaming.

Originally scheduled for 15 September, the match between Arsenal and Psv Eindhoven, on the second day of the Europa League group stage, was postponed due to the events that took place in the English capital in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, who had passed away a few days earlier. In a nutshell, this is a direct clash for first place, as both the Dutch and Gunners are now close to qualifying for the knockout phase.

MMikel Arteta’s side are having a sensational time of it: they are still on top of the Premier League – their seventh win in a row came against Leeds, which means +4 on second-placed Manchester City – and beating Psv can put an end to their Europa League first-place hopes two days early. In fact, the Londoners are currently first with nine points, the only ones in their group still on full points after three matches, with a haul of six goals scored and only one conceded. But the distance in the standings from the men coached by Ruud van Nistelrooy remains minimal: Psv have seven points, the result of two wins and a draw. More distant, however, are Bodo/Glimt (four points) and Zurich, who have collected four defeats out of four. And if Arsenal are bursting with health, so are Gakpo and his team-mates, who have won four league and cup matches in a row without interruption. In their last two outings they have showered Zurich and Utrecht with goals – eleven in total – and remain on Ajax’s heels in the Eredivisie.

The Prediction

Arsenal are in great form, they are running rampant in the Premier League and in the Europa League play-off they have the opportunity to close the gap in the race for top spot in the group. A victory would then allow them to pour all their energies into the championship, where they are the absolute protagonists so far. The Gunners are therefore slight favourites against another team on a positive series like Psv, who on the London night should at least find the way of the goal on one occasion, confirming the enviable offensive prolificity shown so far.
