The first leg result was favorable but not too much: ahead 2-0, Salzburg conceded the 2-1 goal in the midst of recovery.
A goal that thus allows Twente to dream of a return to a Champions League narrowly tasted 14 years ago.
The men led by Joseph Oosting want to capitalize on their excellent third place in the last Eredivisie behind PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord. In attack they are banking on globetrotting striker van Wolfswinkel but have just lost central defender Propper, bought from Rangers. Major disposals at Salzburg as well: gone are two starters Sucic and Pavlovic, the latter having moved to AC Milan. His absence in the center of the defense is being felt given the goals conceded in this start of the season, notwithstanding the bombastic victories.
