Tuesday 31 January predictions: Coppa Italia, Serie C, DFB Pokal or German Cup, League Cup and other minor competitions are on the line.
The Coppa Italia quarter-finals kick off this evening, again with the dry-match formula with possible extra time and penalty kicks in the event of a draw. The reigning champions Inter Milan and Atalanta, who have made a great start to 2023 by re-launching themselves in the league with a view to qualifying for the next Champions League, will open the dances.
The team coached by Gasperini in their six matches in 2023 has never scored less than two goals and in their last four away matches they have always both scored and conceded goals. In front of them will be Inter, who can count on the excellent form of Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez, but who have been unconvincing in defence in recent times and are struggling with the Skriniar case.
This will be a highly spectacular match and open to any outcome.
Other match predictions
Cup time in England too, where Newcastle should have no problem against Southampton: the final on 26 February at Wembley has already been secured, only the seal is missing.
In the German Cup, goals are assured between Paderborn and Stuttgart and between Union Berlin and Wolfsburg. There is also a midweek Serie C round, with the B round on the pitch. The most likely victories are those of the leader Reggiana against Fiorenzuola and the pursuer Virtus Entella on the field of Imolese.
