Tuesday 3 October predictions: Day 2 of the Champions League group stage gets underway, with the Championship also on the pitch.
The second day of the Champions League group stage kicks off, with Inter Milan and Napoli the first Italian teams to take the field. Last year’s Champions League finalists will face Di Maria’s Benfica, a match to be won after the difficulties of the opener against Real Sociedad. Three-point goal within reach for the Nerazzurri.
Napoli’s mission is more complicated as they take on former manager Ancelotti’s Real Madrid: closing the door on the unleashed Bellingham and the returning Vinicius will be very difficult, but at the same time the Italian champions have what it takes to avoid defeat.
Other match predictions
Bayern Munich should have no problem at home to Copenhagen, while Manchester United in a Premier League slump will have to watch out for Galatasaray, who have an attacking unit capable of hurting the Red Devils’ fragile defence.
Goals are also on the line in PSV-Sevilla and Lens-Arsenal, but with different predictions on the final result: while the field factor could influence the Netherlands, the Gunners are the favourites in the other match.
In the Championship, Ipswich-Hull and Plymouth-Millwall are among the matches with at least three goals in total.
