Tuesday 14 March predictions: Champions League, Championship, Serie C and other minor competitions are back on the pitch
The Champions League round of 16 concludes this week with two more Italian teams, Inter and Napoli, eager to join AC Milan in the quarters. First on the pitch will be the Nerazzurri, who must protect their 1-0 first leg victory. The defeat against Spezia in the league made this away match even more delicate and difficult: Sergio Conceicao’s Porto are tough at home. In a match with goals, Inter will try to secure the draw that would give them the pass to the quarter-finals.
Guardiola’s Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw against Leipzig in the first leg, but in the return match at home it’s hard to predict any surprises: the Citizens favourites in a game with at least three goals in total.
Other match predictions
Speaking of goals, watch out in Saudi Arabia for the cup matches of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and Al Hilal, finalists of the last World Cup for clubs. The Championship and Serie C are also on the pitch, with Cesena v Virtus Entella and Middlesbrough v Stoke among the matches with at least one goal per team.
