Leipzig v Real Madrid, Champions League: TV, line-ups, predictions

by Martin

LIPSIA – REAL MADRID | Tuesday 9pm

With ten points from four games, Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid lead their Champions League group and have already gained access to the round of 16 of Europe’s top competition. The reigning champions want to finish ahead of everyone, however, and they don’t want to lose either, as there have been no defeats yet this season and the positive streak has lasted so long. In short, so far everything is great inside the Madrid team, who, as said, have no intention of letting go. Even if Leipzig, after losing 2-0 in the first leg at the Bernabeu, and after overcoming that difficult week with a league defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach, have now posted seven straight positive results.

The Germans are currently second in their group, although they will play for everything in the match against Shakhtar next week. Whatever result comes out of the match against Madrid, assuming the Ukrainians beat Celtic, it will be the last ninety minutes that will decide the fate of second place in the group. The one that is worth access to the Champions League round of 16.

The Prediction

In Real Madrid’s house, a draw would be welcome. And Ancelotti would also have to resort to a little turnover for this match, which has value, but not much more. Leipzig, in this way, could take advantage of it. Perhaps they could pull out a draw and then go all out in next week’s match against the Ukrainians. Match, however, with at least one goal per team.

Leipzig-Real Madrid line-up probables

  • LIPSIA (4-2-3-1): Blaswich; Simakan, Orban, Gvardiol, Raum; Haidara, Schlager; Szoboszlai, Nkunku, Werner; André Silva.
  • REAL MADRID (4-3-3): Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Alaba; Camavinga, Tchouameni, Kroos; Hazard, Rodrygo, Vinicius.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
