Copenhagen-Bayern Munich is a match on the second day of the Champions League group stage and is played on Tuesday at 21:00: TV, predictions.
We are only on the second day of the group stage, but Bayern Munich have in fact already secured top spot by clinching one of the two direct clashes with Manchester United, the other big favourites to win Group A.
Two weeks ago, in their Champions League debut, the Bavarians came out on top at the end of a thrilling 4-3 win over the Red Devils: the attack, regenerated by the arrival of a gunner like Kane, has responded, but it is the defence that seems to be the Achilles’ heel of Thomas Tuchel’s team: So far, despite the purchase of a decisive player like former Neapolitan Kim, Bayern Munich have always conceded at least two goals in challenges against opponents of a certain level (Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United and Leipzig). The German champions’ rearguard also creaked last Saturday against Leipzig, who had already given Muller and his team-mates a disappointment in the middle of August, defeating the Allianz Arena 3-0 and winning the national Super Cup. At home to the Roten Bullen, Bayern were unable to take their revenge and avoided what would have been their second defeat of the season thanks to Kane and Sané, who cancelled out Marco Rose’s men’s 2-2 second-half lead.
Bayern can mortgage first place
A draw which, in any case, cost Leverkusen the lead in the standings: Leverkusen flew to +2, but Stuttgart also overtook Bayern Munich in second place.
Tuchel expects a reaction already in the Copenhagen match against what, on paper, should be the cinderella of the group. Only in theory, given that in their first outing Jacob Neestrup’s side came close to a resounding success at home to Galatasaray in their Istanbul fortress: the Danish fans’ dreams vanished in the final minutes, with the Turks scoring two goals in the space of two minutes through Boey and Teté (2-2). In Superligaen, Copenhagen just recorded their second setback of the season, losing 2-0 to Midtjylland in front of their home crowd. A painless defeat, however, if we consider that Løverne remain first in the standings. Neestrup against Bayern will have to do without the disqualified Jelert, but also miss former Atalanta player Cornelius. The Bavarians, meanwhile, will be without the injured Gnabry and de Ligt.
The prediction
Bayern Munich have so far been perfect against in-form opponents such as Copenhagen, and in Denmark they should achieve a fairly comfortable success. We expect a match of at least three goals in total on the night at the Parken, with Tuchel’s team most likely to score three to six goals.
