Bayern Munich-Inter, Champions League: live free to air TV, predictions

by Thorsten

Bayern Munich-Inter is a match for the sixth match of the Champions League group stage and will be played on Tuesday at 21:00: statistics, prediction, forecasts, live TV and streaming.

A luxury friendly. There is no other way to define the challenge between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, one of the highlights of the last day of the group stage. At the time of the draw, the Nerazzurri were trembling at the idea of having to play for qualification at the Allianz Arena – where, moreover, they have never lost in their three previous matches – and instead, contrary to the initial predictions, they land in Bavaria with the mathematical certainty of second place. Everything is practically settled in Group C: Julian Nagelsmann’s men are on full points, arithmetically first and sure of being runners-up; Inter are second on 10 points, now unreachable for Barcelona, stuck on four and ‘condemned’ for the second consecutive season to relegate to the Europa League; Viktoria Plzen, finally, have no chance of moving away from last place, without points after five matches.

In Europe, the Germans have been their usual steamroller so far: no false steps, sixteen goals scored and only two conceded, and a double success against their ‘black beast’, Barcelona, who they beat in both the first leg and the return leg. The San Siro match, which ended 2-0 to Bayern, was also flawless. Bayern also started to pedal again in the Bundesliga: on Saturday, they beat Mainz 6-2, scoring their sixth consecutive victory, which allows them to remain one point behind the leader Union Berlin. Simone Inzaghi’s troop is also travelling at a fast pace, having finally unblocked itself after the home success against Barça. Since then, almost only victories for the Nerazzurri, who last weekend cleared Sampdoria (3-0) in a short time. However, the idyllic moment has been overshadowed by the news of Lukaku’s new injury, just returned but immediately forced to stop, probably until the new year.

It is therefore likely that both Nagelsmann and Inzaghi will make a turnover ahead of their respective league matches (Inter will face Juventus). The Bavarians will be without de Ligt and Muller, while Gosens, Darmian and Correa will almost certainly find space on the other side.

The Prediction

There are no other motivations than prestige, but the match at the Allianz Arena is likely to be a more open one than expected considering that many reserves will be on the pitch. Nevertheless, Bayern Munich appear to be the favourites and Inter will have to watch out for their terrible youngsters (Musiala above all), eager to prove themselves. It is likely to be an entertaining match with at least three goals in total.

Bayern Munich-Inter’s likely line-up

  • BAYERN MONACO (4-2-3-1): Ulreich; Mazraoui, Upamecano, Pavard, Davies; Goretzka, Sabitzer; Gnabry, Musiala, Tel; Choupo-Moting.
  • INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, de Vrij, Acerbi; Darmian, Barella, Çalhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Gosens; Lautaro Martinez, Correa.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 2-1
