Tuesday, Nov. 14 predictions: scheduled replays of the first round of the FA Cup. But tennis is also featured today.
With the major European (and other) leagues in the attic for two weeks to make room for national team commitments, taking center stage is the FA Cup with the “replay” of matches that ended in a draw in the first round, the so-called replays.
The most important of the English national cups, last year won by Manchester City at Wembley against their cousins Manchester United, started last November 3. Obviously, these first matches do not involve Premier League and Championship teams, which will start taking part in the competition from January onward. Among the most interesting matches is certainly the one between Accrington and Doncaster, two clubs participating in League Two, the fourth tier of the football system across the Channel. In the first match it ended 2-2, but this time Accrington could come out on top by making the home factor count; Doncaster, in fact, has lost four of its last five away matches. Derby County, on the other hand, should make the category difference count in their challenge with Crewe Alexandra.
Other match predictions
Forest Green and Peterborough are favored over Scarborough and Salford, respectively. There should be no shortage of entertainment in Horsham-Barnsley, ten days ago ending 3-3.
Potentially eventful matches also those between Grimsby and Slough and York and Chester, in which both teams are expected to score at least one goal on each side. As far as tennis is concerned, however, this is the week of the Turin Atp Finals: in the first scheduled match Medvedev is likely to get the better of compatriot Rublev in the Russian derby, while in the evening there is the highly anticipated match between Djokovic and Sinner: the Alto Adige native does not start favored but could win at least one set against the Belgrade phenomenon.
