Sinner, the video circulated on the net says it all: here’s what happened and why his opponents would do well to watch their backs.
A breath of air up there in the mountains, a few descents into the snow, and here he is ready, finally, to return to the field. Jannik Sinner preferred to sit out the first tournaments of the year to better focus on athletic preparation; however, he will participate, if only to stretch his legs, in the Kooyong Classic.
The date to circle in red on the calendar is January 10, with the understanding that the real debut, if we do not consider the exhibition tournament, will coincide with the start of the legendary Australian Open. It is for those, and not only those, that the South Tyrolean has been training hard, insisting on strengthening his physique and shots that he can execute even better than he already does. He gave himself a three-day vacation in Trentino, just three, and then returned to Monte Carlo, which was the setting for the last act of the off season. In these hours he will take off for the land of the kangaroos, and then yes, we can start counting down. And to dream big, that is.
A plan for 2024 is there, as there was in 2023 and it has been fulfilled in its entirety, and it is also quite ambitious. If last year the goal was to hit the Finals, this year Slam is the word echoing in Sinner’s head. He has the means and the hunger to make it, and that is why the spotlight this early in the season will be on him.
Sinner, the video says it all: it’s every man for himself
In the Principality, where he moved his residence for some time, the world number 4 tried to sharpen his weapons as best he could. He insisted quite a bit on game variations, which until recently were not his forte.
“As often as you can, give me that longline bunt.”

He focused especially on backhand backhand and short balls, but also on descents at the net. All, as you can easily guess, with the aim of enriching his technical background and being able, in this way, to face anyone, even the most fearsome and unpredictable opponents. And how hard he is working is demonstrated by a video, circulated on the net, in which he can be heard his coach, Simone Vagnozzi, giving him very precise directions on what to do.
In the middle of an exchange, he can be heard telling Jannik, “As often as you can, give me that longline bunt.” And we’re not looking forward, at this point, to seeing him back on the court and finding out what innovations he has brought to his already amazing repertoire.
