Sinner at the Sanremo Festival: the clue confirms the hypothesis

by Michael

Sinner, the tennis player has made up his mind: here’s how Amadeus’ project evolved, who wants him and Totti on the Ariston stage.

Two years ago it was Matteo Berrettini’s turn. Handsome as the sun, happy with the semifinal hit at the Australian Open and back from a string of incredible successes, he had walked down the Ariston steps with great emotion and also with a bit of healthy, as well as entirely legitimate, embarrassment.

His presence at the Sanremo Festival had confirmed Amadeus’s desire to open the doors of the Ligurian theater also to representatives of other sports and not only, as it had often been, to personalities belonging to the world of soccer. A goal that the artistic director of the legendary all-Italian singing kermesse seems to want to pursue even today, given the tenor of the news that has circulated in recent hours. In fact, there have been persistent rumors in the press and on social media about Jannik Sinner’s alleged participation in the Sanremo Festival. Not as a guest, as it had been for Berrettini, but even as co-host.

The project, still on paper, bears precisely the signature of Amadeus, who apparently dreams of having the South Tyrolean and Francesco Totti by his side on the final night. But he knows well, Amadeus, that it may not be easy. That Sinner has a clear mission to accomplish and that his plans may not contemplate any distractions.

Sinner, it is already decided: clues confirm it

Let’s try to reason. The lights of San Remo will be turned on next February 6, eight days after the end of the first real event of the tennis season, namely the Australian Open. Jannik would have plenty of time to return to Italy, should he wish to attend the Ariston, but there is a though. In fact, there are many.

First of all, immediately after the Australian trip, the athletes are generally engaged in what is known in the jargon as “athletic recall.” These will be intense days for everyone and especially for those who, like the South Tyrolean, are aiming to climb to the top of the world and kick off a new era. The timing just mentioned is therefore already an insurmountable problem in itself. It is difficult for Jannik to actually reconcile the Amadeus project and his sports commitments. All the more so if, as it appears, he will play in Marseille and Rotterdam in February. Difficult for him to vary his schedule to “parade” in San Remo, knowing him.

Secondly, then, there is the San Candido native’s lifestyle. Italy’s No. 1 allows himself very few distractions, and we just don’t see him on the Sanremo stage with all the spotlights on him. He, who has made discretion his banner, may not be comfortable in the role of co-host of such a light and crisp kermesse. All indications seem to confirm, in short, the hypothesis that Amadeus’ project is destined never to take off.
