Saturday, Aug. 24 predictions: Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga

by Sabrina

Saturday, Aug. 24 predictions, Milanese teams want to redeem disappointing debuts. In the Premier League hostile away match for Arsenal.

A “full” weekend, that is, with all 5 major European leagues as protagonists, since the Bundesliga also opened its doors. In Serie A, the two Milanese must redeem a disappointing debut: Inter, champions of Italy a week ago, did not go beyond a draw against Genoa at Marassi, the child of some worrying defensive errors, and at San Siro against Lecce they cannot afford any more missteps.

Milan, on the other hand, must pay attention to Parma. The Ducali in the first day came close to victory against Fiorentina and will certainly give a hard time to the Rossoneri, who were able to avoid a resounding defeat with Torino at San Siro thanks to a desperate comeback in the final. In the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City should have no problem folding newly promoted Ipswich Town: the Cityzens proved that they are still the team to beat by going on to win on authority at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, risking virtually nothing. Also hunting for their first success of the season is Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham, who host Everton in North London: the Toffees, fresh from their home thud with Brighton, are likely to return empty-handed from their trip to the English capital as well.

Predictions on the other matches

In the Bundesliga, Leipzig are clear favorites over Bochum: the Roten Bullen, who have managed to retain starlet Xavi Simons for at least another year, have a good chance of clinching their first league victory against a team that last May was saved only after a play-off and has just been eliminated from the German Cup by an opponent playing in a lower category.

There is also a match to follow in Ligue 1: Lyon after a disastrous debut in Rennes faces Monaco in a match with at least one goal on each side. The challenge between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao should not be poor in goals either: the Blaugrana are favored but the Basques will sell their skins dearly. Finally, in the Premier League, Aston Villa could play another dirty trick on Arsenal: in the last championship, Unai Emery’s team made it two for two in the challenges against the Gunners.
