Saturday 17 September predictions: Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1

by Martin

Saturday 17 September football predictions: With the three days of Champions, Europa and Conference League over, Europe’s major leagues return on the weekend before the national team break. There will in fact be almost two weeks of respite for the clubs because of the Nations League, then again another tour de force ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in November. In Serie A there are three fairly balanced early games: Bologna-Empoli, Spezia-Sampdoria and Torino-Sassuolo. To find clear favourites for victory it is necessary to move on to other leagues: Antonio Conte’s Tottenham should prevail over Leicester, just as Borussia Dortmund are clear favourites in the heartfelt Ruhr derby against Schalke 04.

Other predictions

Retaining in the Bundesliga, goals are coming in Bayer Leverkusen-Werder Bremen, Stuttgart-Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach-Lipsia, while in La Liga an avalanche of goals is expected from Barcelona against Elche.
