Sassuolo-Torino: video highlights and highlights from Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 Serie A evening big-match, with moviola episodes and report cards.
Dionisi’s Sassuolo hosts Juric-led Torino at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia. It is crucial for the Emilian team to win to move away from the relegation zone. Torino, grappling with a rather colorless period, on the other hand, needs to regain certainty from a game perspective.
Juric deploys Zapata up front flanked by Sanabria and with Vlasic behind. Dionisi responds with three quarterbacks (Bajrabi, Laurienté and Thorstverdt) behind former Inter player Pinamonti. Sassuolo after three consecutive defeats must do their utmost to find salvation points: third last place is only one length away.
Toro, on the other hand, hopes to find a win to move closer to the Europa League. And to get a positive result Juric has been working hard on the defense where he has recovered Rodriguez. With him lined up former Salernitana Lovato and Djidji.
Highlights of the challenge
The hosts started off aggressively, and at 5′ they were already ahead: Pedersen advanced on the right and put in a soft ball that Pinamonti headed into the corner to Milinkovic Savic’s right. Just four minutes pass and Toro finds the equalizer with Zapata in a very similar action. Again there is the outside (Bellanova) who starts at speed on the right and crosses softly into the box, and there Zapata anticipates everyone and finds the net.
Matheus Enrique tries twice from distance, unsuccessfully. On 29′ Bellanova puts another nice cross into the box, but Vlasic is not Zapata, and the ball does not go in. Zapata himself tries a minute later: his attempt goes just wide. Vlasic has a good chance at the end of the first half, but again the ball goes just wide to Consigli’s left.
In the second half, the first chance happens on the foot of Laurienté who tries the conclusion from outside, with the ball ending high over the crossbar. Then in 70′ again Laurienté tries a classy goal from a defiladed position that is well closed down by Milinkovic Savic. The French class ’98 returns to attack in the 81st minute, again stopped by the Toro goalkeeper. At the expiration there is a round shot by Defrel that ends up out by not much.
