Inter-Udinese is a match valid for the fifteenth day of Serie A and is played on Saturday at 8:45 p.m.: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.
Last Sunday, Inter were aware that they had to deliver a performance up to the mark to return to the top of the standings and counter Juventus, who two days earlier had beaten Monza at the last gasp in the Brianza away match.
And the Nerazzurri succeeded, overwhelming Italian champions Napoli in a match that had the aftertaste of a handover: 3-0 at the “Maradona” against the team of the former Mazzarri and first place immediately regained. Thus, the long-distance duel between Simone Inzaghi’s men and Massimiliano Allegri’s men, always divided by two points, continues. Inter will also this week play after Juve, which twenty-four hours earlier will be engaged precisely against Napoli at the Allianz Stadium (at the time of writing we do not yet know the result). This time the – on paper – easiest commitment has Lautaro Martinez and his teammates, who will welcome Udinese to the San Siro. The Nerazzurri’s goal is to extend the positive streak that has been going on since September and thus since the only defeat of the season against Sassuolo. The Friulians, who have already conquered the San Siro a few weeks ago by tripping Milan, are coming off the back of a sensational 3-3 draw with Verona in which they were caught up in the seventh minute of recovery by a goal from Frenchman Henry after squandering a double lead early in the second half. It was yet another draw (9 total) for the Bianconeri, who are still winless at home.
Inter-Udinese: latest lineup news
Inzaghi forced to reinvent the defense after the forfeits of Dutchmen Dumfries and de Vrij and the unavailability of Bastoni, still not ready. Carlos Augusto could therefore find space in the defensive trio along with Darmian and Acerbi, while the returning Cuadrado will play on the right flank. Only bench for Frattesi.
On the other hand, Cioffi is intent on confirming ten elevenths of the lineup fielded a week ago against Verona. The only change could be the absence of Pereyra, who is not at his best. Three are competing for a shirt: Success, Thauvin and Lucca.
The prediction
Inter have lost only once in their last 11 challenges with Udinese: the Friulians prevailed last season, beating the Nerazzurri 3-1 at the then Dacia Arena. Since Cioffi has been on the bench instead of Sottil, the team has changed pace, although the relegation zone still remains dangerously too close. We believe Udinese can make their case despite not being able to avoid defeat against an Inter team in great form: at least three, in all likelihood, the total goals, also in light of the last three games that have featured the Friulans and in which the “goal” sign has always come out.
The probable lineups of Inter-Udinese
INTER (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, Acerbi, Carlos Augusto; Cuadrado, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro Martinez.
UDINESE (3-5-2): Silvestri; Ferreira, Kabasele, Perez; Ebosele, Samardzic, Walace, Payero, Zemura; Success, Thauvin.
