Hertha Berlin-Hoffenheim is a match on the eighth day of the Bundesliga and is played on Sunday at 15:30: line-ups, predictions, TV and streaming
The goal set by Hertha Berlin’s management in the summer is to have a quiet league season. Basically the opposite of what has happened in the last two seasons, with the Capitols constantly at serious risk of relegation despite ambitious markets. Last May, the Zweite Liga nightmare was more concrete than ever: in order to remain in the top flight, Hertha had to overcome a very complicated promotion/relegation play-off with Hamburg, who finished third in the cadet league. The imperative, therefore, is to avoid another year with the water at their throats. To achieve this they have enlisted an experienced salvation coach like Sandro Schwarz, who when he coached Mainz achieved it for two seasons in a row.
After an uncertain start – three defeats and a draw in the first four Bundesliga matches – Schwarz seems to have found the so-called squaring of the circle. The first victory came on the pitch of a direct competitor like Augsburg (0-2), followed by two draws with Bayer Leverkusen (2-2) and Mainz (1-1), in which the Alte Dame could have achieved something more. On both occasions, in fact, Hertha Berlin were caught up in the final minutes: with Bayer they cashed in Schick’s goal ten laps of the clock before the triple whistle, while Mainz’s match was a real mockery, as Bo Svensson’s men equalised in the last minute of added time.
On the other hand, Andre Breitenreiter’s Hoffenheim, the next opponent of the Berliners, seems to be able to fight for more noble goals. The team from Sinsheim won 13 points in the first seven matches and is momentarily fourth in the standings, even ahead of Bayern Munich. In their last match before the break, Kramaric and his team-mates recorded their first draw of the season, stopping Freiburg at 0-0.
The Prediction
Hoffenheim got off to a great start in this Bundesliga and should avoid defeat in the away match at the Olympiastadion against a recovering Hertha. It cannot be ruled out that the total number of goals in the end will be less than four.
