Friday 21 October predictions: Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga and other minor leagues around Europe are on the line.
Next week the Champions League will be back with matches on the penultimate day of the group stage. On Tuesday, Juventus and PSG will play in the same group, bringing their respective league fixtures forward to today. Juventus will have to try to beat Benfica, but in the meantime they cannot ignore the match against Empoli, because in the championship there is a ranking to climb in order to regain the top positions.
PSG, with or without a turn over, should have no problem on the Ajaccio pitch. An advance is also being played in the Bundesliga, where Mainz will face Cologne.
Other predictions
For those on the hunt for goals around Europe, the advice is to look at two leagues where goals are scored in abundance, Zweite Liga and Eerste Divisie. Look out in particular for Darmstadt-Holstein Kiel, Hansa Rostock-Kaiserslautern and ADO Den Haag-De Graafschap.
There is also a very balanced big match in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, in which there should be no shortage of goals: Porto-Benfica.
